District Hires New Healthcare Liaison & CGMRC Coordinator
The North Central Health District recently welcomed Denys Fluitt as their new Healthcare Liaison and Coordinator for the Central Georgia Medical Reserve Corps (CGMRC). In this role, Denys will communicate with nursing home facilities, dialysis centers, community health centers, long term care, and other healthcare entities as it relates to their emergency plans. Denys will also manage and recruit healthcare volunteers for the CGMRC, which assists during emergency responses that require medical volunteers. She will also coordinate training opportunities for the volunteers as well as solicit and manage grant funding.
Denys said, “I am very pleased to work with such an eager group of volunteers in the Central Georgia Medical Reserve Corps. I recognize the importance of being prepared for any event. The CGMRC volunteers have been inspired to serve their community, so I’m very excited about doing what I can to make sure we are all prepared.”
Denys is originally from Valdosta where she was employed with the South Health District as the Healthcare Liaison for 4 years. She graduated from Valdosta State University in 2005 earning her Bachelor of Fine Arts, Speech Communication with an emphasis in Public Relations. She completed the Masters of Public Administration program in 2008.
