Breast Cancer Awareness Events

The North Central Health District was proud to support breast cancer awareness through various events throughout the month of October. We believe that education is powerful and the more women who are aware of the importance of breast cancer screenings, the better!
On October 21, we hosted an event called "Fight Like A Girl" which was attended by approximately 100 women. During this lunch and learn, attendees learned the importance of monthly self-examinations and regular screenings.
On October 28, the district hosted, "Go Pink Day." Employees were encouraged to wear pink in support of breast cancer awareness. Many district office staff walked around the block surrounding our district office. A reception was also held that day where women heard from a breast cancer survivor.
Special thanks go to the Women's Health office of Edye Tillman-Johnson and Regina King. Thanks for all you do to educate the women of Central Georgia!
