Girl Talk Event to Promote Breast Health
October is Breast Cancer Prevention & Awareness Month and to celebrate, the American Cancer Society, the North Central Health District, and Macy’s Department Store will sponsor a “Girl Talk” luncheon on Wednesday, October 22 at New Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The church is located at 4388 Robinson Road in Macon.
During the “ Girl Talk” luncheon, guests will have the opportunity to discuss breast cancer myths and the importance of getting regular mammograms. They will also receive free health information and pamphlets about cancer. This FREE event has been planned to provide life-saving information in a fun-filled setting. Good food and entertainment are on the menu for the luncheon. Door prizes will be given away.
FREE tickets are available at the American Cancer Society office (804 Cherry Street). To reserve tickets, please call (478) 743-6391 between 9:30a.m. and 5:00p.m. Space is limited to first 150 Women.

The North Central Health District BreasTEST & MORE Program, provides clinical breast examinations, Pap tests, and mammogram referrals to eligible women 40 and older. These services are available to residents within this public health district, which includes the following counties: Baldwin, Bibb Crawford, Hancock, Houston, Jasper, Jones, Monroe, Peach, Putnam, Twiggs, Washington, and Wilkinson.
